Donor Designated Funds
Donor Designated Funds allow you to make lasting gifts to your favourite charities. With the establishment of a fund, you can select one or more charitable organizations, local or national, to benefit from your fund each year.
Current funds include:
- Andy Endowment Fund
Benefits the Children’s Cancer Patient Support Fund, helping families with unexpected expenses that arise when a child has cancer. - Anonymous Endowment Funds
Endowment funds established by anonymous donors to provide a permanent source of support to selected charities. - Bernie Robinson Skills for Kids Endowment Fund
Helps individual children with specific needs at the Boys and Girls Club to develop basic life skills in areas such as music education (i.e. music lessons and the purchase of instruments) and problem-solving that will allow them to participate, contribute, and compete with peers who have had the benefit of strong family support. - Cameron Thomson Memorial Fund
Supports three organizations that were close to Cam’s heart: the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area, the Banff Centre, and WildSmart. - Canadian Portrait Prize Fund
Supports the national portrait competition, the Kingston Prize. - Chester Yuen Memorial Fund
Provides a source of support for Hospice Kingston, in Chester’s memory. - Community Design and Environment Fund
Created by the City of Kingston to support neighbourhood design and beautification initiatives. - Cuthbertson Fund
Established in support of the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes. - Cyril E. Wharrie and Evelyn D. Wharrie Fund
Provides a source of support that will enrich the community in a meaningful way. - David Middleton Symphony Fund
Provides a source of support to offset the cost of admission to Symphony performances for residents of the North end to increase access. - David Porco Hockey Scholarship Fund
Established in 2004 in memory of a dedicated coach; supports minor hockey in Kingston and area. - Ernie Munroe Fund
Established in 2015 by Laurel Trull as a tribute gift to her good friend who died at the age of 94. Ernie was a nature lover who enjoyed walking on local trails. This fund helps protect natural habitats by supporting the Land Conservancy for Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. - Ferguson Family Fund
Provides a source of support for the Food Sharing Project or similar projects the Fund wishes to aid. - Francis Carney Memorial Scholarship Fund
Provides a source of support, in Frank’s name, to graduating Bayridge Secondary students in their continuing quest for learning. - Friends of the Phoebe Endowment Fund
Provides support for the preservation and maintenance of the steam launch Phoebe as well as related steam artifacts and educational purposes within the city of Kingston. - George Galt Fund for Canadian Literary Writers
To benefit Canadian Literary Writers and writing through the Al Purdy A-Frame Association. - Gordon C. Leitch Discovery Centre Endowment Fund
Provide a source of support to sustain the Gordon C. Leitch Discovery Centre at the Kingston Pump House Steam Museum. - Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home Children’s Endowment Fund
Supports services for children in the Kingston area. - Gordon Rodgers Memorial Fund
Created in memory of Gordon Rodgers to improve the experience of users of the Cataraqui and K&P trails. Click here to read more. - Hans W. Blaser Endowment Fund
To support the programming of Loving Spoonful, with a preference given to their community gardens programs. - H’art Centre Disability Arts Fund

In memory of a beloved sister who lived on Wolfe Island; this fund supports a number of organizations on the Island. - Jack & Lorna Whyte Endowment Fund
Supports the historic Willowbank Cemetery in Gananoque. - James S. and Grace Brown Memorial Youth Advantage Fund
Established by the Brown family, supports the “Pathways for Youth” program at Girls Inc. Limestone, Algonquin & Lakeshore. - Joe Chithalen Memorial Endowment Fund
Provides support to sustain the Musical Instrument Lending Library as a tribute to Joe Chithalen. - John and Patricia MacKay Fund
Created to support community-based programs, such as the Kingston Community Health Centre’s Pathways to Education which provides youth with educational support to help reduce the drop-out rate among high school youth in disadvantaged communities and to help increase enrollment in post- secondary programs. - Karen Olivier Endowment Fund
Part of the Olivier family’s dream of providing scholarships for present and future students of H’art Studio, an organization assisting those with intellectual disabilities. - Kingston Coalition for Dental Care Endowment Fund
Provides support enabling the Kingston Coalition for Dental Care to continue to increase access to dental care for those living in poverty. - Kingston Impact Basketball Fund
Provides access to basketball players who otherwise would not be able to play due to financial constraints. - Kingston Red Barons Legacy Fund
To provide transportation, food, accommodation, and/or entry fees in support to the winning team of Kingston Area Secondary Schools Athletic Association (KASSAA) Girls’ Ice Hockey as they advance to the next level of championship play. - Krebs Carstens Family Fund
The Krebs Carstens Family Fund supports the work of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library, The Spire, and Kingston Symphony by growing their respective endowment funds held at the Community Foundation. - Larry Clayton Endowment Fund
Supports hockey registration for youth in financial need, with preference given to KAMHA league in which Larry coached. - Lloyd and Vivian Willows Memorial Endowment Fund
Established to continue the donors’ lifetime support of several local and national charities. - Lucas Fawcett Musician Fund
Created to honour the memory of Lucas Marc Fawcett, a young musician. The income from the fund goes to the Boys and Girls Club to help implement a music program to provide group music lessons for kids at their after school care. - Marion & Dan Atack Fund
For the benefit of the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority for the purpose of conservation and education. - Mason Budarick Memorial Fund
- Established in Mason’s memory, supports the Loyalist Township Minor Hockey Association, providing scholarships so all can participate.
- Matt Cahill Memorial Scholarship Fund
Provides a source of support, in Matt’s name, to graduating Bayridge Secondary School students in their continuing quest for learning. - Moosa Zuby Saloojee Fund
To support the Islamic Society of Kingston. - Mowat Boat Fund
Supports for the Mowat Boat exhibit at the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes. - Nan Yeomans Fund

Supports the popular North Kingston Basketball Camp program, encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among young people in our community. - Robert Rider Memorial Fund
Established in Robert’s memory, this Fund supports scholarship in education, research or practice to prevent hospital acquired infection. - Robert W. Sutton & Ethel Mary Sutton Endowment Fund
To support the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston & Area and the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children – Montreal. - Sally and Brit Smith Trust Fund
Sends underprivileged children to local camps, particularly RKY Camp and others that are non-profit. - Stephen Seiffert Principal Horn Chair Fund
Established to support the Kingston Symphony Association, and the principal horn chair position. - The Brook Catherine Doseger Endowment Fund

The Fund helps sustain current programs and aids in developing new and promising approaches to assisting youth to develop the skills necessary to overcome the challenges of adolescence. - Vincent and Rose Amodeo Fund
In memory of Vincent and Rose Amodeo, assists local health and social services organizations in carrying out their important missions. - Wildlife Rehabilitation Fund
Provides financial security to the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre which helps all injured and orphaned wildlife and releases them back to the wild. - William Cherry Fund
Provides a source of support for several charities selected by Mr. Cherry. - Winnifred Ross Memorial Fund
Provides source of support for Hospice Kingston in memory of Winnifred Ross. - Wolfe Island Fund
Provides a source of support for charitable organizations on Wolfe Island. - Woodbury Enterprises We Care Charitable Youth Fund
Provides a source of support for projects that benefit children and youth. - Working Dogs Fund
Created to support the training of guide dogs, and of dogs that assist individuals with autism. - Y Knot Fund
Supports para-sports and para-athletes at the Kingston Family YMCA. - Zal and Rose Yanovsky Breakfast Fund
In memory of Zal Yanovsky and Rose Richardson, supports the Food Sharing Project that provides thousands of nutritious meals and snacks daily to students who need them while at school, and helps reduce hunger to allow students to better concentrate on their studies. Click here to read more.
