The Foundation hires a summer student through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

We are pleased to welcome Dana Mitchell to the Community Foundation team this summer!

Dana, a recent graduate from Queen’s University, will be filling the role of Office & Communications Assistant. Throughout her 8-week contract, she will be helping to write content for the Foundation’s website, newsletter and social media channels, and assist with various administrative and marketing projects.

This new student position was made possible through the Canada Summer Jobs program, a government initiative that helps employ young people across the country. The Foundation is very thankful to have received funding to hire a new team member for the summer.

As an English Literature student, Dana brings her unique storytelling and editing skills to the position. She is an avid reader and writer, and has contributed to various publications including Shameless Magazine, The Queen’s Journal, and Queen’s Gazette. This fall, she will be attending Ryerson University to participate in their Literatures of Modernity MA program.

“I’m very excited to be working with CFKA this summer,” says Dana. “The team has been so friendly and welcoming, and I look forward to helping them further their impact and outreach in the community.”
