The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area regrets to announce the departure of their Executive Director, Tina Bailey. Her last day at work will be March 11, 2022.
Ms. Bailey has been working with the Board to facilitate an orderly transition. A search for her successor will begin shortly.
Ms. Bailey has served as the Foundation’s Executive Director since May 2013. Under her leadership, the Foundation and its reputation have grown significantly. Its endowment funds have almost tripled, growing from $12.6 Million to $33.5M, with annual donations reliably growing to over $1M per year and many bequest gifts secured that will further strengthen the Foundation in the future.
More importantly, the impact of the Foundation’s granting has increased, not only in total annual dollars granted – topping over $1M for two years in a row now – but also in the diversity and strategic impact of our grants.
Ms. Bailey was also instrumental in growing our Speaker Series to meaningful community engagement events where participants not only learned about important community issues but also left with a concrete ‘call to action’.
Most notably was our event on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) which led to significant community momentum and funding to address this issue. Ms. Bailey played a leadership role in convening a community-wide collaborative with representatives from a wide range of agencies that are developing a community strategy to prevent and mitigate the impacts of ACEs. This work is funded by the transformative $5M Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul Community Impact Fund that Ms. Bailey and the Board worked with the Sisters to establish.
The Board is grateful for Ms. Bailey’s many contributions that have served to strengthen the Foundation and our community.
“It has been an honour to serve the community through this role for the past nearly nine years,” said Ms. Bailey. “I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone – all the donors, staff, volunteers and charitable partners – who have contributed to my amazing experience and to the incredible growth and success of the Foundation during my years at the helm. I will remain forever grateful for this experience.”
Board Chair Rob Wood has extended the Board’s best wishes for her every success in the future.
